COMMENT TO BE ADDED

This is the "official notice", I suppose.
As many of you know, some people on LJ aren't very nice
I've run into a few of those people. I honestly don't have
a cruel bone in my body, and I would rather not deal with
people who live to bitch rather heartlessly at me and/or
others. So, just comment if you'd like to be added.

Thank You!

EDIT: I have recently "cleaned up" my
FL, and I removed everyone who didn't have me
listed as their friend. If I removed you from
my FL, and you would like to be added, please
add me as your friend and comment again to
be added to my FL! Thanks!

I thought that I could hold the tears back, but it didn't quite work out that way.

foalstory lost Ally today. He's up there with Calvin and Dot and Gee and all of the other horses that we've all lost, and they are all watching over us.

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity." -Gilda Radner

Well, Micheal sent the contract to us. My dad signed it. All we're waiting for now... is the check. Gah! I'm so excited and impatient!

I had a photoshoot with Meredith today. She got accepted into UVA, and she wanted to wear her UVA Santa hat and take Christmas photos with her horse, Reggie. Some of them turned out pretty well. Anyway, here they are...

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL REMI GETS HERE!

I'm so, so, so excited. Not having a horse of my own just doesn't feel right.

I'm going to try to get my dad to ask the insurance company to overnight the check to us. That way, it should come in the mail on Tuesday. My dad said that he'd give me the other check, and I can just deposit both of them on Tuesday or Wednesday. They'll wire the money to Micheal, and we'll have a shipper pick up Remi and bring him to Virginia. If all goes as planned, I guess that he could be here by Thursday or Friday.

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

Yesterday would've been my Anniversary Day with Calvin. I would have owned him for 1 full year. It's been almost 2 months, and there isn't a day that goes by without thoughts or talk of Calvin. My time spent with him felt like a lifetime, but it still wasn't enough. I always think about him. I think that I'll always think about him. His sickness was just so unexpected. So wrong. I don't know why it happened, and I will never know. I guess that I'll just have to keep myself sane by knowing that, while he was alive, we gave each other more love than anybody could ever imagine.

Okay, I'm doing this for fun. I'm going to post the links to all of the new crap that I'm going to buy Remi. Of course, there is always a chance that I won't like him. If he's as well-behaved as Michael says he is, however, I'm sure that I'll get him. They were honest about the pony being too green, so I'm sure that they are being honest about Remi. Obviously, it'll take me quite a bit of time to afford all new clothes, boots, etc.

He will be getting a pair of Dover Pro Sport Boots. In white, of course. I mean, I think that steel gray horses look awesome with white polo wraps or splint boots.

He will be on Strongid C. We already use that for all of our horses. I didn't give Calvin any supplements, but I definitely want to use supplements for this boy. We already have all of our horses on a joint supplement. I'm not sure how to spell it, though. Adaquan? Something like that. I'm not sure which supplement, but I'll put him on something for his hooves. I might put him on Mira-Coat or something like it. Heather uses Mira-Coat for Grace, and she shines like nothing I've seen before. Then again, Remi is gray. Gray horses don't really shine that much, do they? I'll probably give him Vitamin E capsules, too. If he'll eat all of that crap. I'm crazy, huh? In the end, I'll probably only put him on some of those supplements. Oh, and I can't forget Quiessance. I'll probably use that on him, too.

Of course, I'll get Miracle Groom. It worked great on Calvin! Especially on his tail!

I would like to get this Hunter/Jumper Schooling Saddle Pad for Remi and put a Mattes All Purpose Half Saddle Pad over it. Oh, and I forgot to mention that light blue is Remi's color. Everything that he wears is going to be light blue. Unless we are showing, of course.

Okay, I'm going to start doing bullets...

  • Dover's No Bows Wraps
  • Hoof Heal (I love the smell of Hoof Heal for some reason!)
  • These Power Flex Elastic Bandages look like fun!
  • Ichthammol Dressing
  • Tzon Wound Cream
  • Uptite Poultice
  • PVC Glitter Bell Boots
  • SmartPakEquine SmartBlue Thinsulate Turnout Blanket

Okay, I'm too tired to go on. I'm sure that you get the point. I'm going all out for this horse.

The check is being sent on Monday! It probably won't get to us until Wednesday, at the earliest, and my dad is going to be out of town until Sunday! He's leaving on Wednesday. Grrr! Pam and I are trying to figure out a way to have the horse sent as soon as we get the check.

Work sucked today. We had to get there really early, because a bunch of trucks were coming to dump some new sand into the big ring. We obviously couldn't bring in horses from the front fields with all of the loud trucks. We had to clean their stalls with them in them, too. That's never fun. Pam asked me if I wanted to go to the bank with her, and I told her that I still had to help Charlene sweep the barn. She told me that I could sweep when I got back. I left a note for Charlene that said where I was and that I'd sweep when I got back. Charlene had a fit. First off all, all we had left was sweeping. Secondly, Charlene gets paid more than me. She can most certainly do more work than me if she gets paid more. Thirdly, she has no room to bitch. Her daughter, Jennifer, used to leave the barn all of the time, leaving Charlene to do it all by herself.

If Pam weren't the owner of the barn, it would've been different. Obviously, I can't just go off with my friends in the middle of work. Charlene drives me fucking crazy.

I can't wait for Remi (Rembrandt) to come!

I'm so freakin' excited about this new horse! I can't even express how excited I am.

    THIS EXCITED!!!

Okay, more excited than that. I didn't want to mess up your Friends Pages, though.

If only that damn check would get here...

I work with a Shavings Nazi. Pam doesn't give a crap about how many shavings we give, so I don't understand why Charlene can't suck it up and put shavings in the stalls that need them. She complains to me all day, too! For the most part, she's a nice woman. She just drives me crazy.

Horses are such strange animals. The jump standards and poles having been sitting outside of the ring for 4 days. I expected a few horses to spook at the while walking by the 1st time, and they did. After walking by probably 10 times and even being ridden in the ring, I figured that they would be fine. Everybody, except for Jack, was perfect. Jack spooked pretty badly, and he knocked his hoof really hard into the back of my left heel. Well, it was really my achilles tendon. Hurts like a bitch. It's all swollen and bruised now. This is my 1st week of official work, and I already got hurt! For such large animals, you would think that they would be a little braver, huh?

So, the vet who did Calvin's necropsy report hadn't sent it in to the insurance company. That's why the check hasn't come yet. No check equals no new horse. Anyway, he came today to look at Valentine, and he told us that he sent it in yesterday. Pam and Ashlee started having 2nd thoughts about Meghan's pony. Michael told us that the pony was very green. He called yesterday to give Pam an update about them. Rembrandt has been perfect! He said that he's been absolutely wonderful, and we can have him shipped as soon as we can pay him in full. If I don't like Rembrandt, he gets his horse back, and we get our money back. The people who were supposed to buy Mia decided that they weren't going to, so Meghan isn't going to be able to buy Camelot, anyway. If he's that green, it wouldn't have worked out. Just like that 1st gray mare that I looked at. If something goes wrong, it wasn't meant to be.

Anyway, I'm really excited. I just wish that the check would get here really soon! We could have Rembrandt shipped home in a few days if we had the check to send now.

I just haven't been able to wake up for work lately. Before the trip to Vegas, I was getting to work at 6:30AM or earlier. Now I'm not getting there until around 7:00AM. I'm just exhausted from Las Vegas, I guess. Work isn't exactly easy, anyway.

Nothing too eventful happened today. Ernie broke through the fence again. Moose is such a good boy. He never leaves the paddock when Ernie breaks the fence down. He's either a good boy or a crayon short of a box. I have a feeling it's the latter. Those Warmbloods...

Haha, I hope that mine is a little smarter than some of the Warmbloods that we have!

Jesse was really lame today. We're thinking that it's an abcess. Poor horse. I always feel so bad for the horses from the school. He got to stay in his stall tonight! I'm sure that he'll be thrilled with that.

I really don't know the exact date that Rembrandt is arriving, but I'm going to do a countdown...

    10 MORE DAYS!
